Premium, Highly Unappreciated Dad Jokes
I don’t know how many times you can have the same conversation about bedtime without losing your mind, but I hope that turning the whole thing into an opportunity to quote 80s movies at least keeps me from pulling my hair out.
Thoughts on Chopping Lettuce and Getting My First Stitches
It had been a normal work from home day with craziness galore, and I was starting on supper for the Wonder Woman when the kids finally, mercifully went to bed. Then, for the briefest of moments I got distracted. This distraction was followed by the knife and my thumb attempting to occupy the same space on the cutting board, a yelp from me, and a short time later a trip to a local urgent care where I would receive my first stitches - six to be exact.

Ironically, the kids, all of whom were making their first flights, caused very little drama.

This is Life in Your 40s: Volume 1
Periodically on this blog I like to offer a glimpse into the future for those who may not have crossed the grand milestone that is your the celebration of your fortieth trip around the sun. Since I am now three years past that celebration I feel that I am qualified to speak as to the unique, humorous, and occasionally off-putting facets of life in your fourties.
Independence Day Lessons from Papaw
My paternal grandfather, known affectionately as Papaw Sharp, was not a fan of the Independence Day holiday. He was not unpatriotic, in fact, it was quite the opposite. He served honorably in World War II, but his time in war changed him in many ways.
