Disney Princess Dad Bracket - Round 2
It’s time to reveal the results of the second round of the Disney Princess Dad Bracket. If you missed the first round you can catch up here. Without any further delay here are the results from our four-dad panel of voters.
Chief Tui versus Fa Zhou (Chief Tui 3-1)
Aaron Sharp
It appears that I will be the only one casting a vote for Fa Zhou. This is a crime against humanity, and against the honor of Disney princess everywhere. This is not a knock on Chief Tui, but come on man!
Aaron Travis
I’m calling this one the “hipster dad” showdown - tats vs man bun. While both of these guys are major trend setters, I just can’t support the man bun. For that reason, I’ve got to pick Chief Tui.
Eric
Winner Chief Tui. Both dads are uber traditional but figure it out in the end. But Tui’s physique rivals Triton and for a guy in his 30s or 40s that ain’t bad. Probably is also pit master of the island. And for that, he gets the win.
Paul
Chief Tui lives in Polynesia: surf, sun and seafood. And I’ve never seen Milan. Chief Tui for the win.
Sultan of Agrabah versus Maurice (Maurice 4-0)
Aaron Sharp
Maurice is a little bit of a darkhorse in this tournament. It would be wrong to say that his run is a Cinderella story, but one might say that he is the Belle of the ball.
Aaron Travis
This was a tough one for me. Sultan gave his daughter a TIGER as a pet - that’s strong. But Maurice raised a strong daughter that loved to read and sees through Gaston’s antics. I think I’m looking to Maurice for my Dad tips here.
Eric
Winner Maurice. The Sultan let Jaffar walk all over him. I liked him better when he was hanging with Will Smith. But nothing beats Maurice the inventor. Protective, adoring, confused, and played by quirky Kevin Kline in the remake. So that’s a win.
Paul
I still have to go with Maurice the inventor on this one. Give me Maurice and the points. The lack of sports due to Corona has me analyzing these matchups like a bookie.
King Frederic versus Chief Powhatan (Frederic 3-1)
Aaron Sharp
I find Eric’s reasoning here sound, but I am going to go with King Frederic because the four-year-old Fashionista will kill me if she ever finds out I voted against anything involving Rapunzel.
Aaron Travis
Picking King Frederic here. He never gives up on finding his daughter even when all hope is lost. Plus - he rules the kingdom of Corona?!?! Interesting indeed. 🤔
Eric
Chief Powhatan was suspicious of white guys and wanted to kill a few which is totally understandable having been a white guy for some time now and seen what we’re capable of. His real life story is fascinating too. Politician, warrior, diplomat. He gets the nod for having been real.
Paul
It has come to my attention that the voice of the King of Frederic is the one and only, Clancy Brown, aka Patrick the Starfish, aka Captain Hadley of The Shawhank Redemption (aka the greatest movie ever). Side goes to King of Frederic.
King Fergus versus Triton (Fergus 4-0)
Aaron Sharp
Neither of these guys are perfect dads, but they both mean well. Ultimately I don’t think it is a good sign for Triton that he is totally overshadowed by the music in his movie. Also, I know we can’t hold dads responsible for their kid’s decisions, but how did Ariel have so little street smarts to not write a note to the prince to explain her predicament? She spends 3 days trying to lure him in for a kiss when a move perfected by 3rd graders would work? This is on dad for not teaching her how the world works.
Aaron Travis
Fergus is a top seed for a reason. Fearless, fun, warrior. Oh....this just in. Triton suspended from the tournament after testing positive for PED’s. No way he gets that ripped doing underwater resistance training. Knew he had to be up to something.
Eric
King Fergus is the kind of dad I want to be more like. Great sense of humor, playful, fun, and doesn’t take life so seriously. He wears a bear cape.... That’s pretty awesome. And Triton’s amazing abs notwithstanding, Fergus has the true dad bod.
Paul
Fergus' accent is far more entertaining as is the movie Brave than Triton and the Little Mermaid. Change my mind.
